Call for Papers

Founded in 1961 by A.S. Hornby, the A.S. Hornby Educational Trust have been supporting English language teachers from around South Globe to come to the UK and do a master’s degree in one of the top-ranking universities since 1971. There are currently more than 400 Hornby Alumni in different parts of the world, and the Trust is now helping the alumni to connect through building the alumni community. In endeavour to support this process, the organising committee of the very first Hornby Alumni conference is happy to announce the call for proposals.

The conference aims to:

  • bring Hornby alumni together to celebrate their belonging to the alumni community
  • give alumni an opportunity to exchange English language teaching experiences and success stories from their prospective countries
  • foster connections and strengthen relationships among alumni from various cohorts
  • provide a platform to share research/project outcomes with colleagues around the world
  • encourage meaningful discussions on a broad range of topics of shared interest.

The conference will include a range of strands with talks on different topics.

  • your ELT related initiative (either in the stage of planning or already ongoing) that you would like to invite other alumni to join (your presentation will help you find colleagues from other parts of the world who could be interested in working together with you)
