Prior to 2008, Saba Bahareen Mansur was a lecturer at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology in Islamabad. Today, with the knowledge gained from completing a Masters in Education TESOL at the University of Leeds, she has been able to add a string of accolades to her name.
Not least is her promotion to the role of assistant professor at the Institute. However, Saba is also an accomplished researcher, having completed many papers for both conferences and journals, such as the IATEFL’s English for Specific Purposes (ESP) publication. She has frequently presented these papers at international conferences, helping enhance her reputation on the global education stage.
Saba is particularly interested in ensuring everyone has access to the same courses and services. As such she has begun work on a project to incorporate equal opportunities and diversity at the university, and is adapting current ESP courses to meet the needs of students of different disciplines.
Another of her projects which aim to increase access to English language training is English for Academic Purposes, a course aimed at business administration students. She is also helping to organise an English Language Teaching international conference – the first of its kind for her university.
